Building Advocacy Committee (BAC) News
SEED formed the Building Advocacy Committee (BAC) in September 2007 to work with the district in Sunset's new building and renovations. SEED's BAC has secured funding for the new $13.5 million new two-story modular building for Sunset! Groundbreaking began on October 24, 2008 and it is now ahead of schedule! The covered plaza surrounding the new building has been designated for SEED's Brick Fundraiser.
Progress with important Sunset Elementary renovations and construction is taking place:
• Groundbreaking for the new building began on October 24, 2008. The new building is unique and beautiful –with a new Media Center and elevator and is scheduled to be completed in the early months of 2010.
• The school has been connected to the sewer system.
• The windows in the Cafeteria have been changed.
• New staff parking lot is complete.
• The Primary playground has been entirely resurfaced.
• There are many tasks being completed in the existing buildings, patching holes, repairing pavements and major works in the cafeteria.
