SEED News In September 2007, SEED formed the Building Advocacy Committee (BAC) to work with Miami-Dade County School Board and District officials to get Sunset’s capital renovations and construction back on schedule. BAC met with MDCPS officials in November to present its case. BAC members have worked closely with MDCPS representatives to ensure everything is followed through in a timely manner.
These accomplishments are the result of hundreds of volunteer hours invested by parents at our school. As President of SEED, I am so very humbled by the commitment and professionalism shown by members of the SEED Board and Building Advocacy Committee. You all know who you are and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Parent input counts! Thank you, parents, for your enthusiastic participation in the SEED Parent Survey. Based on the more than 400 surveys that were returned, it’s clear that parents prefer SEED to invest in the following: Technology (Computers and other hardware, software supporting Language Arts, Math and Science for children and teachers in the classroom or Hands On Minds On Computer Lab)
Small Capital (Safety enhancements like security cameras or a new perimeter fence, beautification, playground renovations, minor refurbishments outside the scope of Miami Dade Public Schools projects)
Teaching Tools (Software for Foreign Language and other subject areas, Global Curriculum Agenda tools, Accelerated Reader enhancements, Math, Science and Language Arts manipulatives and kits)
